EVENING REFLECTION: The Trust Factor

Share

My dear 40-Forwarders, when I tell you I have laid in 2 Chronicles 20:1-30, it is an understatement. I kept my mind stayed on God’s truth in this passage of scripture and it brought me immeasurable peace (Isaiah 26:3).

In our last Evening Reflection – “Get Flat”, I described how the war was won from a praying posture.

Today we will examine the demonstrated TRUST factor.

Do You Trust The Source Of Your Help?

King Jehosaphat TRUSTED God because of His “creds”! Look at Jehosaphat’s prayer

Yup, that prayer got God’s attention. The king (Jehosaphat) knew that this matter required the KING OF KINGS attention and intervention. He knew in whom victory lie – the Lord of his fathers who art in heaven.

In essence King Jehosaphat was saying, “You (God) have defended and rescued your people before, so You can do it again.”

40-Forwarders, the KING OF KINGS is still the same, He has not changed (James 1:7; Hebrews 13:8). Do like Jehosaphat when you are before God. “Aren’t you the God that defended Judah and Jerusalem from the Moabites and the Ammonites in 2 Chronicles 20? Am I not adopted into Abraham’s lineage?” You better learn to pray the Word!

Do You Trust God’s Answer?

The answer to their prayer came in v. 15 … “Be not afraid not dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

Talk about GOOD NEWS!

Oh, but it gets better. Listen to verse 17, “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.”

What has God said to you about your particular situation? Whose report are you believing? Do you not TRUST that what He has said will come to pass? Then ACT like it!

Watch this DEMONSTRATION of TRUST

Trust in action.

They trusted God’s response so much, they first fell on their faces and worshipped Him THEN they got up and started to sing!

They celebrated at His word not after His work! (Selah).

Talk about a celebration BEFORE manifestation. That’s TRUST!

40-Forwarders, the script has changed but the Saviour remains the same! Anything He has said unto you, tek it an run wid it! (Translated: This is your opportunity, take it!)

Get up! Get your tambourine! And praise Him in advance!

Watch God move on their demonstrated TRUST in verse 22 … And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

This is a one off event Rona V. and besides, this happened in the Old Testament. Fret not, I got you, turn your bible with me …

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. [26] And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

Acts 16:25-26

This is what the song writer meant when he penned, “It’s amazing what praises can do!”

Once you receive the answer from the TRUSTED Source, demonstrate your confident TRUST in Him by putting an in advance praise on it!

Who do you know that needs this Word today? Go ahead and SHARE.

  1. Good stuff! TRUST! May we take God at His word and not listen to what our situation tells us. May we start rejoicing at His word even before the battle is won. May we experience the “And Suddenly”.

  2. God is indeed faithful. There are times when situation wants us to think that our God is far away and is not near us, but we just need to take God at His word and cast ALL our cares upon Him and know that He is GOD! In everything give Him thanks and praise; worship Him for who is, knowing that it is better to trust in God than to put our confidence in man.
Everyone of God’s promise (word) is true. What we think seem impossible it’s so great to see our God do.
He CANNOT lie! A mi fi tell yuh😂💃🎤🎻🎺

    1. Michi, I agree. Let’s shift our focus from the situation and move it to our God that is faithful and who keeps His promises!
