40-Forwarders, when I heard this word, I could not type fast enough. I hope I do it justice. Here goes …
Are you fighting your battles from the right position? Have you assumed the right posture? From whence does your help come?
When we read in 2 Chronicles 20:15, “Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s,” this is not a call to drop arms and take the blows being meted out by the enemy. Oh no, this utterance came out of a GET FLAT move orchestrated by King Jehosaphat.
It is important that we read the preceding verses to understand how the people got here; to be hearing this word from God.
2 Chronicles 20:3-4 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. [4] And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord : even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
The battle turned in verse 12, when the King said, “O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: BUT our eyes are upon thee.“

It is after King Jehosaphat and the people GOT FLAT and took their problem to their Helper (God) that their Helper said “Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s!” The battle was won on their knees!
Are you in trouble? Are you being tossed to and fro? Don’t sit and take it, GET FLAT and fight it!
Stop this “woe is me” mentality and behaviour! In whom do you believe? From whence cometh your help? Turn your eyes upon Jesus – GET FLAT!
Have you been in a situation where it sounds like bullets are firing in your direction? What do you do? GET FLAT!
Have you ever watched a movie and suddenly it is raining bullets and then you hear someone shouting, “Get down, get down?”
In both instances, the message is the same – take cover, GET FLAT!
We are protected from the fiery darts of the enemy the lower we stay to the ground. Where are you hiding? Where is your shelter? Make sure you are under His shadow. Make sure you are in the cleft of The Rock.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12
The enemy is not fighting fair. His mission is to steal, kill and destroy. So, if you are looking the devil in the eyes may I strongly recommend that you shift focus?! Go sit in the pavilion (Psalm 27:5) and look instead in the face of Christ Jesus.
David won in war and in life because he constantly asked God to deliver him. There was no doubt in David’s mind from whence his help come (Psalm 121). Throughout the book of Psalm we read how David cried unto the Lord for deliverance. And the Lord delivered him out of them all.
My dears, it is clear that we are not in a fist fight, it is a GET FLAT fight! It is on our faces we will get our battle strategies. It is on our faces we win!

I don’t know what it is like in your neck of the woods, but hell has been hailing bullets at me, my family (immediate and extended), my friends, my neighbours, my co-workers and my nation, so best believe I am assuming the right position and posture – GET FLAT!
Let us tell hell NO by getting and staying flat! Our answer cometh. GET FLAT! Stay down!
Fight by GETTING FLAT. Our FIGHT is on our faces! This is where battles are won!
